Immigrant Invest has told participants of the Luxury Travel Mart forum about opportunities that open with a residence permit obtained by investment.

In 2022, the forum in Kazakhstan gathered more than 200 companies: international hotel chains, private hotels, high-end car rental companies, cruise and megayachts travel operators, aeroplane rental companies, and international realtors offering luxury properties.

Tasks of investors from Kazakhstan

Wealthy citizens of Kazakhstan have become increasingly interested in migration services since the beginning of the pandemia in 2019. The focus of attention is European investment programs offering residence permits.

A residence permit or permanent residence allows the holder to relocate to the chosen country with the family, as relatives can become residents, too. The most popular programs are the Portugal Golden Visa and the Malta Permanent Residence Programme.

Being an EU resident is an opportunity to enter the Schengen countries visa-free, have a backup plane in case of an emergency, provide children with a chance to get an education at EU schools and universities and access services of European banks. If entrepreneurs are EU residents, they can unlock new opportunities for their businesses.

Investors from Kazakhstan often prefer residency programs even though a residence permit provides fewer opportunities than citizenship. The reason is that if a citizen of Kazakhstan obtains second citizenship, they must give up their first passport. The majority of investors don’t want to lose their homeland citizenship.

Immigrant Invest’s performance at the forum

Yulia Veremyova, the Partner Network Chief Development Officer, and Dmitry Romanyuk, a partner relationship manager, held meetings with companies from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. 50 of those meetings were planned, and 20 more meetings were held beyond planned.
