About Yemen
A state in Southwest Asia, on the Arabian Peninsula. It is washed by the waters of the Red and Arabian Seas, borders on Oman and Saudi Arabia. Yemen is one of the poorest Arab countries. The country's economy depends on the production, processing and export of oil and gas Most of the workers are employed in agriculture: they grow cereals, coffee, cotton, fruits and vegetables, and are engaged in animal husbandry.
Tourists come to Yemen to relax at medical and ski resorts. Four sites in Yemen are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List: the cities of Shibam and Zabid, the old part of the city of Sana'a and the Socotra archipelago.
