About Tanzania
A state in East Africa. It borders on Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique. In the east it is washed by the waters of the Indian Ocean. The country is part of the Commonwealth of Nations.
The basis of Tanzania's economy is agriculture. The country grows coffee, tea, sisal, cotton, cashew, tobacco and other crops. In addition, Tanzania has significant natural resources: there are deposits of gas, diamonds, precious stones, tin, phosphates, gold, nickel, iron ore, and uranium. About 50% of GDP comes from the service sector.
