About Sierra Leone

A state in West Africa. It borders on Guinea and Liberia, washed by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The country is part of the Commonwealth of Nations.

Sierra Leone is one of the poorest countries in the world, despite rich deposits of minerals: diamonds, bauxite, iron ore, gold and rutile. About half of the workers are employed in agriculture: they grow cocoa, coffee, rice, palm trees and peanuts.
