About Eritrea
A state in East Africa. Bordered by Sudan, Ethiopia and Djibouti, washed by the waters of the Red Sea. There is only one legal party in the country, and presidential elections have not been held since 1993.
Eritrea is one of the poorest countries in the world. The ruling party controls the economy. The main industry is agriculture: bananas, papayas, potatoes, corn and other crops are grown in the country. In addition, food products, glassware, salt, gold, copper and zinc are mined there.
