About Colombia
A state in South America. It is washed by the waters of the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. Colombia has large reserves of coal, oil, gas, gold, silver, platinum and emeralds. The country is one of the top 5 coffee producers in the world.
Eight sites in Colombia are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Among them are the port, monuments and fortresses of Cartagena, the archaeological parks of San Agustin and Tierradentro, the Xapak Nyan road system in the Andes, which was built by the Incas. Tourists can also visit the Colombian Coffee Cultural Landscape, an area of the Paisa region where most Colombian coffee is produced.
