Where You Can Travel Visa-Free with a Dominica Passport in 2026

Investors applying for Dominica citizenship are expanding their travel opportunities: a Dominica passport can replace the Schengen visa.

Dominica citizens can travel to:

• 5 countries are available after getting an electronic travel authorisation (eTA).

Schengen Area

Dominica citizens do not need a Schengen visa. They are allowed to spend 90 days in any 180 days or up to 3 months in any 6 months without a visa.

The advantages of having a Dominica passport over a Schengen visa include its longer validity period and greater ease of renewal. 

A Schengen visa is issued for a maximum of 5 years. When the visa expires, the whole process has to be repeated for a new visa. In contrast, Dominica citizenship by investment is for life, and the Dominica passport simply needs to be extended every 10 years. The procedure is simple and does not require approval, checks or travel to the island: the renewal can be done through a licensed agent.

Asia

Dominica citizens can travel without a visa to one of the main business hubs in Asia — Singapore. They can spend up to 30 days in Singapore without a visa.

China is another Asian visa-free destination available for Dominica citizens. They can enter the country and spend up to 30 days there.

Citizens of only a limited number of countries have the privilege to visit Singapore and China visa-free. It is another advantage offered by a Dominica passport to investors who do business in Asia.

Dominica passport holders need a visa for both the United Kingdom and the United States — neither destination offers visa-free entry.

United Kingdom. The UK introduced a visa requirement for all Dominican nationals in July 2023, with immediate effect^{[1]Source: The introduction of visa regime for Dominica citizens is regulated by the Explanatory Memorandum to the Statement of Changes in Immigration Rules.}. 

Dominica citizens must now apply for a UK Standard Visitor visa before travelling for tourism, business, or family visits. Applications are made online, and applicants submit biometric data — fingerprints and a photo — at a visa application centre.

United States. Dominica is not in the US Visa Waiver Program^{[2]Source: The list of countries under the Visa Waiver Program is published on the US Homeland Security Website.}, so its citizens need a nonimmigrant visa — usually a B-1/B-2 — for tourism or business. 

In 2026 the visa terms tightened sharply. The State Department's updated reciprocity schedule for Dominica now caps B-1/B-2 visas at 3 months and a single entry, down from 10 years with unlimited entries. The same downgrade extends to student (F), exchange (J), intracompany (L), and religious-worker (R) visas^{[3]Source: US visa terms for Dominica citizens are published on the US Department of State website.}.

Approved B-1/B-2 applicants from Dominica must also post a bond of up to $15,000, set by the consular officer at the interview, through the US Embassy in Bridgetown. 

The changes follow President Trump's December 2025 proclamation restricting entry from 20 countries, and a January 21st, 2026, freeze on immigrant visa processing for 75 countries — Dominica among them^{[4]Source: The full text of Presidential Proclamation 10998 is available on the US Department of State website.}.

Participation in the Dominica Citizenship by Investment Programme provides freedom to travel for tourism and business purposes. Citizenship is obtained within 6+ months. 

To obtain a Dominica passport, a single investor needs to contribute $200,000 to the state fund or invest $200,000 in real estate. These investment thresholds are among the most accessible in the Caribbean.

The investor’s spouse, children, parents, and grandparents can be included in the same Dominica citizenship application. Second passports offer new opportunities not only for the main applicant but also for their family members.
