Step-by-step procedure for obtaining Nauru сitizenship

The process of obtaining Nauru citizenship typically takes about 3—4 months, based on Immigrant Invest’s legal practice. Below is a step-by-step guide to how the process usually unfolds.

1

1 day

Preliminary Due Diligence

Immigrant Invest carries out a preliminary Due Diligence check to identify any factors that may prevent an applicant from proceeding with the selected programme. The process is fully confidential.

Pass a quick test and learn the nuances that can prevent you from obtaining second citizenship.

Evaluate chances
2

2+ weeks

Collecting documents and applying for citizenship

An assigned Immigrant Invest lawyer guides the applicant through the document collection process and application preparation. The lawyer uploads the complete application package to the secure NREXST system.

The Nauru Programme Office assigns a unique Application ID and issues an invoice for the initial government fees. The applicant proceeds with payment by transferring the required amount to the designated bank accounts.

3

Up to 2 months

Due Diligence

Upon receipt of payment of fees, the Programme Office reviews all documents for completeness and correctness and conducts a two-stage Due Diligence process.

Initial Due Diligence covers Tier 1 and Tier 2 checks on the investor. It results in the issuance of an Application Submission Confirmation Letter once the submission is confirmed.

Final Due Diligence includes Tier 3 and Tier 4 verification. Based on the findings, the Programme Office prepares a recommendation for the Cabinet of Ministers, which makes the final decision and notifies the Programme Office.

The Programme Office then informs the agent of the outcome by issuing either an Approval in Principle letter or a rejection letter. In case of approval, it issues an invoice for the investment contribution and passport fees.

4

Up to 30 days

Investing

The investor completes the investment payment directly to the Programme Office within 30 days. They then submit final documents including a SWIFT payment confirmation, signed originals of the Oath of Allegiance, and completed passport application forms for all approved individuals.

5

1+ weeks

Obtaining citizenship

Upon receipt of payment the Programme Office initiates the issuance of naturalisation certificates and passports.

The Programme Office transfers the original certificates and passports to Immigrant Invest. The company delivers the original documents to the applicant.
