How to get a visa to St Kitts and Nevis

A visitor visa to St Kitts and Nevis is not always required. According to St Kitts and Nevis visa policy, any foreign national can stay in the country for up to 24 hours without a visa. It is especially convenient for сruise ship passengers.

St Kitts and Nevis has agreements on the visa-free regime with 156 countries. According to them, citizens of these countries can spend from 27 to 180 days a year in St Kitts and Nevis without a visa. Usually, the period of visa-free stay is 90 days every six months.

While a visa is not required, travellers still need to comply with some requirements. They must hold:

  • a passport valid for at least six months beyond the presumed date of country exit and with at least one blank visa page;

  • proof of onward and return flights;

  • proof of travel purpose;

  • proof of sufficient funds relative to your intended length of stay.

Citizens of other countries can apply for a visitor visa online. This also applies to travellers who want to spend more time in St Kitts and Nevis than permitted by the visa waiver agreement.

After submitting the application, confirmation will be sent to the applicant’s email address from the Ministry of Homeland Security of Saint Kitts and Nevis. It must be printed out and presented to the immigration officers at passport control, who will issue a visa on arrival. The visa fee, which is $100, must also be paid.

Together with the confirmation letter, a traveller needs to provide immigration officers with the following documents:

  1. A passport that is valid for six months from the date of entry.

  2. 2 photos.

  3. Round-trip air tickets.

  4. Confirmation of hotel reservation or official invitation.

  5. An account statement to confirm solvency.

A visa can be obtained from a St Kitts and Nevis diplomatic mission or consular office in the US, UK, Canada, Belgium, or Jamaica. But it is recommended to apply online.

How to get to St Kitts and Nevis

There are two airports in St Kitts and Nevis. The main one is located in the vicinity of Basseterre, the capital of the country, on the island of St Kitts. It receives most flights. The second airport is located in the city of Nevis on the same name island. It is also international but accepts very few foreign flights.

How to get St Kitts and Nevis citizenship
