Sierra Leone offers citizenship via GO-FOR-GOLD. The minimum investment is $140,000.
From October 1st, 2026, more affordable investment options will become available in the country — but not for everyone.
Elena Ruda, Co-Founder & Managing Partner at Immigrant Invest, found out who the new conditions apply to.
New investment options: who are they for?
On October 1st, 2026, Sierra Leone will launch new investment options for entrepreneurs under the current GO-FOR-GOLD programme. This is naturalisation on special terms for investors, or Fast Track Citizenship via Special Naturalization[1]Source: Sierra Leone citizenship programme on the Go For Gold Center website.
The minimum investment for the main applicant is $140,000. Due Diligence is paid separately: $5,000 for an application of up to 5 people. The application is submitted online, and there is no need to travel to Sierra Leone.

The option will keep the possibility of adding an applicant over 21 who is not a relative of the main applicant. Previously, this was called the +1 Business Partner Incentive.
From October 1st, 2026, the process for adding such an applicant will be renamed Plus One. The application process will become simpler. The exact list of documents for Plus One has not yet been published.
For entrepreneurs without relatives
The Enterprise Citizenship option is suitable for business partners who want to submit a joint application. If approved, both applicants will obtain citizenship.
The minimum investment is $80,000 for each applicant. Due Diligence is paid separately and costs $5,000. If the applicants have interviews separately, an additional fee of $1,000 is charged.
For solo entrepreneurs without relatives
The Solo Entrepreneur option is suitable for one applicant who does not plan to obtain citizenship with their family.
The minimum investment is $95,000. Due Diligence is paid separately and costs $5,000.
Additional services are available to applicants:
- concierge service for priority application processing;
- company registration with a bank account;
- registered office address for 1 year.
What else will change
From October 1st, 2026, the cost of applications for another Sierra Leone programme, Heritage Naturalization, will also change. This is an option for foreigners who can confirm African origin with a DNA test.
The minimum cost will increase from $100,000 to 120,000. The increase applies only to the main applicant. The cost for family members will not change.
How much second citizenship by investment costs
Business investment may be of interest to applicants if their goal is not only to obtain a second passport, but also to open a profitable business, enter a new market, or diversify assets.
Sierra Leone grants citizenship by investment in business and funds to those who want to combine freedom of movement with entering a new market and diversifying assets.
Other countries also grant citizenship to investors who invest money in business. The minimum investment is $165,000.
Countries with second citizenship by investment in business
Immigrant Invest lawyers will help choose a country for second citizenship based on the family’s goals: developing an international business, freedom of travel, relocation, tax planning, or access to banks.
We will compare programme conditions, calculate expenses for all participants in the application, and prepare documents for submission to the citizenship by investment department.
