Process of obtaining Argentina citizenship
Application submission and preliminary check. The investor submits an application to the Citizenship by Investment Programmes Agency. The Agency assesses whether the investment meets the requirements of the country’s Ministry of Economy.
Due Diligence. If the investment meets the requirements, the Agency requests opinions from specialised authorities, including the Ministry of National Security and the State Intelligence Secretariat.
The check will include:
- identity confirmation;
- verification of the source of funds for the investment;
- analysis of assets and financial position;
- assessment of country and jurisdiction risks;
- check of criminal and reputational history;
- analysis of the applicant’s immigration history.
Agency conclusion. After this, the Agency sends a reasoned response to the National Directorate of Migration with a recommendation to approve or reject the application[4]Source: Decree No. 524/2025 on the procedure for reviewing citizenship by investment applications on Argentina’s legislation website.
Decision on the application. The National Directorate of Migration reviews the Agency’s report and makes a decision within 30 business days after receiving it. The Agency also has the right to issue additional and clarifying rules to regulate the process of reviewing investors’ documents[4]Source: Decree No. 524/2025 on the procedure for reviewing citizenship by investment applications on Argentina’s legislation website.

Countries with active citizenship by investment programmes
Immigrant Invest is a licensed agent. The company has its own Compliance Department, which conducts preliminary Due Diligence. This helps reduce the risk of refusal for second citizenship or a residence permit.
We will help choose a second citizenship country for the family’s goals: travel freedom, relocation, tax planning, or access to international banks.
