Who can renew a Greece residence permit?
A Greece residence permit can be renewed either by the permit holder in person or through a legal representative who has been granted power of attorney.
Residence permit holders
The right to renew belongs to:
- main applicant, provided they continue maintaining their investment;
- dependent family members included in the initial application.

Vladlena Baranova,
Head of Legal & AML Compliance Department, CAMS, IMCM
Special conditions apply to children. They can hold residence permits as family members only until age 21, provided they are unmarried. If they already hold a permit before turning 21, it may be extended until 24 if they remain students and financially dependent on the investor.
Once children reach 24, they can renew their residence permit only on general grounds, if eligible — for example, by obtaining employment in Greece.
Authorities representative
If the applicant cannot or prefers not to renew the residence permit personally, an Immigrant Invest lawyer can manage the entire renewal process remotely under a power of attorney. However, both the applicant and their family members must visit Greece in person to submit biometric data after the application has been filed.
We assist with the entire process:
- notify you about deadlines;
- help prepare renewal documents;
- submit the renewal application to the competent immigration authority;
- arrange biometrics submissions.
