Day 1 opened the event with a welcome cocktail at the Radisson Roma Antica Hotel rooftop. Over a hundred investment migration leaders reconnected and welcomed new faces in a relaxed atmosphere. There were no formal speeches, only candid conversations and shared enthusiasm for collaboration.
Day 2 marked the heart of IMI Connect Rome. The historic Palazzo Colonna’s Coffee House hosted a series of IMI community conversations, exploring pressing questions and future opportunities for the investment migration industry.
The day began with opening remarks by Christian Henrik Nesheim, Founder and Chairman of IMI, followed by statements from event partners. The agenda combined structured discussions with plenty of time for informal networking during coffee breaks and lunch.
Key topics discussed on Day 2 included:
how and where companies can productise citizenship by merit after the closure of CBI programs;
insights into São Tomé and Príncipe’s Citizenship by Investment Program;
opportunities in Italy, including investment pathways, tax regimes, and way to citizenship;
impact of the introduction of the 30-day stay by Caribbean countries offering citizenship by investment;
challenges related to upcoming changes in Portugal’s citizenship legislation;
New Zealand’s new investor visas and their market impact.
The day concluded with an elegant dinner at Terrazza Caffarelli, offering panoramic views of ancient Rome. The evening featured the traditional IMI Connect Trivia — a friendly yet spirited competition that has become one of the most anticipated parts of the event.
The final day began with a rooftop brunch at Cielo served by Immigrant Invest, where participants reflected on the previous discussions and strengthened new business relationships. A guest speaker shared insights designed to inspire and challenge industry perspectives, offering a thoughtful conclusion to the formal agenda.
