Immigrant Invest (IMIN Malta Limited) is a licensed agent of Residency Malta Agency, licence RES-IMIN. We prepare and submit applications; the decision to grant permanent residence rests solely with Residency Malta Agency. Eligibility depends on background and due diligence checks and on meeting the programme's financial and property requirements. Processing times are set by the authorities and vary; in our experience it takes at least 6 months from signing with us to receiving residence cards. Cost estimates are based on current government fees and may change if the regulations change.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is the Malta Permanent Residence Programme?

Malta runs a specific government programme granting permanent residence to investors. To qualify, investors must meet the following conditions:

    1. Buy a residential property for €375,000+ or rent one for €14,000+ per year.
    2. Contribute €37,000.
    3. Pay an administration fee of €60,000 for the investor and €7,500 per family member aged 18+, except for the spouse.
    4. Donate €2,000+ to a Maltese NGO.
    5. Prove available assets of €500,000+ with €150,000+ of financial ones or €650,000+ with €75,000+ of financial ones.
  • Can my family be included?

Yes. Spouses, principally dependent children, and principally dependent parents and grandparents can be included in one application.

  • Do I need to live in Malta?

No physical residency is required. Permanent residents must meet qualifying conditions and renew their permit once every 5 years.

  • How accurate is this calculation?

The calculation is personalised to your exact family composition and includes all mandatory costs: investment amount, government fees, Due Diligence, application processing, residence cards. The only variables are if you add or remove family members or change investment options during consultation.

  • Do I need to pay everything upfront?

No, you are not required to pay the full amount upfront.

  • What happens after I submit the form?

You will receive a confirmation that your enquiry is recorded and in progress via email. After that, we may reach out to clarify any details to ensure your calculation is accurate. Once everything is confirmed, you will receive a personalised PDF with a detailed cost breakdown with basic and additional costs and payment schedule.

Receiving the calculation commits you to nothing — it’s 100% free and no-obligation.

If you don’t see our emails, please check the spam and subscription folders or type “Immigrant Invest” in the mail search.

  • Can I calculate costs for different investment options?

Yes, we can provide calculations for all investment options if you let our manager know that you would like them when we will reach out for the details. Each quote will show exact costs for your family size, helping you choose based on timeline, budget, and income generation preferences.

  • What if my situation is complex?

We specialise in complex cases: children from multiple marriages, crypto holdings, non-liquid retirement accounts, business sale in progress, and previous visa denials.

We can discuss all possible solutions during the consultation.

  • How long does the application process take?

Based on Immigrant Invest lawyers’ experience, obtaining Malta permanent residency requires at least 6 months from signing an agreement with us to receiving resident cards. Timelines may vary based on government processing.

  • How do I get started with the application process?

To start the process, do the following:

    1. Request a cost calculation or book a free consultation — we’ll contact you within 1—2 business days to discuss your situation.
    2. Complete preliminary Due Diligence — we check for any red flags before you commit funds.
    3. Sign service agreement and begin document collection if approved.

No commitment is required from you for steps 1—3.
