Frequently asked questions

  • What is Antigua and Barbuda citizenship by investment?

    Antigua and Barbuda runs a specific government citizenship programme for investors. There are four investment options:

    • contribute $230,000+ to a state fund;
    • donate $260,000+ to a higher education institution — this option is available for families of 6+ people only;
    • purchase real estate for $300,000;
    • invest $400,000 into a local business project.
  • Can my family be included?

    Yes. Spouses, dependent children under 30, dependent parents and grandparents over 55, and siblings can be included in one application.

  • Can I include all my family members in one application?

    You can include the following family members:

    • spouse;
    • financially dependent children under 30;
    • financially dependent parents and grandparents over 55;
    • siblings.

    The total amount increases with the number of family members included.

  • Do I need to live in Antigua and Barbuda?

    Citizenship by investment programme participants must spend at least 5 days in Antigua and Barbuda within the first 5 years after becoming citizens.

  • How accurate is this calculation?

    The calculation is personalised to your exact family composition and includes all mandatory costs: investment amount, government fees, Due Diligence, application processing, passport issuance. The only variables are if you add or remove family members or change investment options during consultation.

  • Why specify each family member's age?

    Government fees vary significantly by age. For example, Due Diligence costs $2,000 per family member aged 12 to 17 and $4,000 per family member over 18.

  • Do I need to pay everything upfront?

    No, you are not required to pay the full amount upfront.

    Initial costs to start the process are approximately $60,000—70,000, which covers deposits, Due Diligence, and legal retainer. The main investment of $230,000+ is paid only after government approval, usually 4—6 months later.

    This structure protects you from losing the bulk amount before you’re approved.

  • What happens after I submit the form?

    You will receive a confirmation that your enquiry is recorded and in progress via email. After that, we may reach out to clarify any details to ensure your calculation is accurate. Once everything is confirmed, you will receive a personalised PDF with a detailed cost breakdown with basic and additional costs and payment schedule.

    Receiving the calculation commits you to nothing — it’s 100% free and no-obligation.

    If you don’t see our emails, please check the spam and subscription folders or type “Immigrant Invest” in the mail search.

  • Can I calculate costs for different investment options?

    Yes, we can provide calculations for all investment options if you let our manager know that you would like them when we will reach out for the details. Each quote will show exact costs for your family size, helping you choose based on timeline, budget, and income generation preferences.

  • What if my situation is complex?

    We specialise in complex cases: children from multiple marriages, crypto holdings, non-liquid retirement accounts, business sale in progress, and previous visa denials.

    We can discuss all possible solutions during the consultation.

  • How long does the application process take?

    Based on Immigrant Invest lawyers’ experience, obtaining Antigua and Barbuda citizenship requires at least 6 months from signing an agreement with us to receiving a naturalisation certificate. Timelines may vary based on government processing.

  • How do I get started with the application process?

    To start the process, do the following:

    1. Request a cost calculation or book a free consultation — we’ll contact you within 1—2 business days to discuss your situation.
    2. Complete preliminary Due Diligence — we check for any red flags before you commit funds.
    3. Sign service agreement and begin document collection if approved.

    No commitment is required from you for steps 1—3.
